“Where Language Empowers Children to Soar...”

The Chesapeake Speech School was founded to enable children with severe communication disorders to reach their full potential by teaching them listening, speaking and literacy skills. By increasing language, we hope to give children a voice to let the world know their thoughts, dreams and wishes.

The Chesapeake Speech School is dedicated to teaching severely language-disordered children through the use of an intensive and highly structured visual/multi-sensory language program that integrates state of the art sensory integration and oral motor therapies to facilitate acquisition and use of oral language.

The Chesapeake Speech School has created a unique, cutting-edge speech and language school where speech pathologists, special education teachers and occupational therapists work together in language based classes.

Chesapeake Speech School is a nonprofit, nonpublic co-education school approved by the Maryland State Dept. of Education and currently serves children ages 5-15. The school operates an 11-month program.

The Chesapeake Speech School has been established under the aegis of the Magnolia Speech School in Jackson, MS. The Magnolia Speech School has been successfully educating children with severe communication disorders since 1956.

In response to the tremendous need for such a school in the Mid-Atlantic region, the Chesapeake Speech School was established.
